Andy was a smart banker and was sent to prison as a innocent just because he was judge to be the murder of his wife mistakenly despite he once wanna killed his wife who rebelled him.He lost his wife and his bright prospect suddenly.In prison he made new friends,and led a completely new life.Sometimes he was bullied by tough guys,but all these were gone when he did a for to the captain guard with his financial skills.Andy spent years to dig a tunnel that connacted to outside. Years passed by,Andy finally realized he was indeed innocent and someone else killed his wife.He made up his mind to escape and at last he succeeded.

The part impressed me most is when Andy got out of the jail. He extended his arms in front of him in the hey rain as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. and just the moment I think I can understand how important the freedom is to us ,perhaps if you don’t lose something that you never know what part it plays in your life .

Also I very riciate Andy’ efforts to fight for freedom and hope, Andy said :” Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of all things, and no good thing ever dies.”I keep it as my motto couraging me in my gloomy period.

And the moive gives a brief introduction of the life in prison,the people who stay for a long time in prison are Institutionalized,which means when they come out ,most of them cannot adapt to the society. He is quickly befriended by Red and they become friends .Even behind bars ,he doesn’t lose hope and believes that there are places in the world that are not made out of stone ,there is something inside that they can not get to, that is hope . However, the majority of people are deprived of hope that are considered to be the worst thing in Shawshank. Those people become institutionalized . The librarian Brooks gains parole ,but he commits s at last ,lacking of hope in life .When I saw this scene, I was shocked .What I bear in mind is that hope is really a good thing that one ought to stick to .Obstacles may trap one’s body ,but hope can set one free genuinely .Life will be gloomy and meaningless without hope .After Brooks ‘s death ,as he says “get busy living ,or get busy dying."Andy tries to help other prisoner’s to find out the meaning of life and the best thing—hope. He starts to extend the library and helps others to oain high school diploma. The role Andy impresses me most ,being a smart and upright man .At the end of the movie ,by the seaside where the sky is blue and air is clean, Andy and Red meet again .I think it is hope that brings them together.
